Lightning Saga LSH colours?
Lots of appearances, apparently, probably to the point where it should be distinguished from "threeboot" or Elseworlds colours.
These shades were chosen because they're exactly halfway between the pre-Crisis and post-IC colours. Work for everyone? (not all will be relevant here, of course, but they'll go on the other pages for colours too)
Colour | Purpose |
---|---|
#cb9056 | Heading |
#f3e2c2 | Out of era* |
#f4e2d2 | Reprint |
#e6dcce | Cameo |
* (of course, unless they become the "main" LSH comic, all appearances will be nominally "out of era") - Reboot (SoM) talk page 13:17, 17 August 2007 (PDT)
- Works for me. I have a feeling we will be using it quite a bit. -- Gopher 15:56, 17 August 2007 (PDT)
- Although, with 32 colors (if I counted right), I hope you don't expect anyone to be able to differentiate #f4e2d2 from #e6dcce, and keep all 32 straight, do you? -- Omnicom 17:33, 21 August 2007 (PDT)
- Not really, no. I don't see what harm it does though to make the attempt.
- To at least try and aid that, I'm trying to theme them:
- red-pink is Pre-Crisis
- blue post-C
- lilac Glorithverse
- bright green post-ZH
- brown post-IC (yellower v5, redder LS)
- orange cartoon (yellower DCAU, redder LSH toon)
- and grey "everything else"
- and then use those themes thoughout the Wiki to "key" them and hope it clicks :) [Within that, on these pages, out-of-era is the base colour, just lighter; reprint is a brighter hue and cameo is a greyer hue]. If it doesn't click though, I don't see any great harm by it. And there can't be fewer "families" because... well... we're at, what, how many versions and counting? - Reboot (SoM) talk page 20:06, 21 August 2007 (PDT)
- Although, with 32 colors (if I counted right), I hope you don't expect anyone to be able to differentiate #f4e2d2 from #e6dcce, and keep all 32 straight, do you? -- Omnicom 17:33, 21 August 2007 (PDT)
- Also, we've already had a LSH cartoon reprint issue - the Free Comic Book Day version is a reprint of issue 1 with a different trade dress. (Or would that just be an alternate cover since they came out within a couple weeks of each other?) -- Omnicom 17:33, 21 August 2007 (PDT)
- I haven't given it much thought, but my first thought would be that essentially straight single-issue reprints with the same title & issue number (even if the cover's different), wouldn't need reprint colouring unless you're getting severely abnormal lengths of time between prints, like a year or more. - Reboot (SoM) talk page 20:06, 21 August 2007 (PDT)
- No, I have no problem with the colors - it does look better color coded. I just wanted to make sure that you didn't expect me to have memorized each shade so that when I saw a color I could instantly recognize what it was supposed to signify.
- As for reprints, we already have straight single-issue reprints with the same title and issue number yet different color - 2nd and 3rd printings of various issues.
