Heading colours

Used for year headers on the by-year pages, and for era on series which cross eras, such as Legion of Super-Heroes v4.

White, as in the Legionnaires #77 example, denotes a "normal" issue - i.e., an issue of a Legion title, or a significant guest appearance, which follows the era denoted by the year/etc header.

Other background colours, such as the grey behind Superboy's Legion #1, break down as follows:

Out-of-era comics

These are comics primarily featuring the "wrong" Legion for the era. Most of these are automatically Elseworlds (grey), but occasionally an attempt to do an "in-continuity" story with an earlier Legion occurs.

In addition, with multiple versions post-Infinite Crisis, only the version with the main Legion comic is designated "in-era".

Reprints

These colours are used for comics, TPBs, etc which reprint other comics.

Where the issue reprints cameos, or contains original stories as well, the reprint colour is used as a border, rather than a solid background.
