Pre-Crisis

The "preboot", or "original", Legion were introduced in Adventure Comics #247. This Legion was founded on the premise of Superman having a career as Superboy who the Legion invited to be a member.

Members

Early prominent members included the three founders - Cosmic Boy, Saturn Girl and Lightning Lad - Phantom Girl, Triplicate Girl, and Chameleon Boy.

Storylines

Major storylines included the Iron Curtain of Time, the Sun-Eater, the original Mordru story, Earthwar, the Great Darkness saga, and the formation of a larger, deadlier Legion of Super-Villains. This version was brought to a close with the final issue of Crisis on Infinite Earths and the Crisis crossover story in Legion of Super-Heroes v3 #18.

Glorithverse

The "volume four" Legion was introduced in Legion of Super-Heroes v4 #1. Editorial edict forced Valor to replace Superboy as the team's inspiration. This era was set five years after the end of the Post-Crisis era and begins with a disbanded Legion. It ends with the advent of Zero Hour. More...

Members

Early members of the reformed Legion team included Rokk Krinn, Reep Daggle, Salu Digby, and Jo Nah, along with new characters Kono, Devlin O'Ryan, and Kent Shakespeare

A separate team of teenage Legionnaires, known as the SW6 Batch, featured members from the Adventure Comics era, as well as new characters like Dragonmage and Catspaw.

Storylines

Major storylines included a battle with Roxxas, the liberation of Earth, the return of Mordru, going on the run from the UP, and Zero Hour.

Members

Early prominent members included the three founders - Cosmic Boy, Saturn Girl and the renamed Live Wire - Triad, Apparition, Leviathan and Invisible Kid.

Later members would include Andromeda, Gates, Kinetix, Umbra, Monstress, Shikari and the second Kid Quantum, who would become the first black leader of the Legion in its' published history.
