Suspicion
(22 pages/124 panels)
Synopsis
Several Legionnaires sit the the Legion HQ rec room speculating on the true identity of Sensor Girl. Chameleon Boy puts an end to it with the observation that Sensor Girl could be listening in with her powers, which she apparently is.
Wildfire leads a small team of Legionnaires out to the Legion Academy to investigate the disappearance of Mentalla, encountering Myg, the likely successor to Karate Kid's mantle. Bouncing Boy lets them know that she left the Academy. Wildfire speculates that she may have been kidnapped and Colossal Boy speculates that she may have left with information about the Legion.
Discussion at the Legion Monitor Board between Element Lad, Brainiac 5, and Chameleon Boy nearly becomes violent as Cham speculates that he thought Brainiac 5 may have created a Supergirl clone. Element Lad decides its time to stop the speculation thats driving a wedge within the Legion and summons Sensor Girl.
Quislet goes to the City Star nightclub and discovers Dream Girl dancing with a man other than Star Boy.
The Emerald Empress kills a Khund aspirant to her new Fatal Five for his failure to locate Validus. She then tells the Persuader that a new Fatal Five needs to be assembled as Tharok is dead, Validus missing, and Mano unsuitable.
Polar Boy, Tellus and Magnetic Kid speculate that Sensor Girl may be Saturn Girl in disguise.
Shadow Lass and Mon-El enjoy a remote, romantic getaway reflecting on Mon-Els recent curing of his lead poisoning.
The villain Flare steals a new spaceship from Nullport and is contacted by the Emerald Empress to join her new Fatal Five.
Element Lad tells Sensor Girl of the problems developing within the Legion because of her secret identity, offering help and asking for assurance that the problem causing her to keep that secret will be resolved soon. Sensor Girl refuses and walks out, apparently quitting the Legion. As she flies off, Ultra Boy and Phantom Girl return from a date. Ultra Boy looks through her mask with his Penetra-Vision and sees an empty costume.
