Spark returns to her homeworld of Winath after six months of sub-light speed transit to get there.
After seeing the depression which has hit her planet, and the formation of a "Milhaven Farming Collective" in their county as a response, she stops at Live Wire's symbolic grave. There, she discovers her older brother Mekt working on her parents' farm, apparently medicated with his custody tag to the point where he was left rather shy, with a pronounced stutter and with his powers inhibited.
When she reaches the Ranzz farmhouse, she finds her mother overjoyed to see her, and her father injured after a "freak storm" six weeks before, and deeply suspicious of the Collective.
The next day, while trying to fix a fence, another storm picks up, and she saves two children by blowing it out with her lightning. Suspicious of Mekt, she puts her costume on and follows him out on an errand. Once she finds him getting on an air-ferry and discovers it makes a stop at climate-control, she fears the worst and flies after him.
There, she finds him in the control room, where he claims to be gathering data on the "freak storms", showing her his collection of data on the storms since their dad was hurt. He eventually persuades her to look, and she goes to confront the Collective members who are deliberately creating the storms to destroy rival farms.
In response, they attack her, but she knocks them all out with her lightning - but the storm they were creating was now blowing out of control. With the control stations fused, she flies up to try and pull the induction coils out, but there is too much lightning even for her, and she can't get close - until Mekt grabs a metal pole and uses it as a makeshift lightning rod to pull the lightning away from her, long enough for her to pull the induction coils out, albeit burning her hands badly in the process, as does Mekt.
In the aftermath, the weather system blows out, and the collective is shut down. She goes to visit Garth's grave again - when Mekt runs from the farm out to her - telling her a news-feed from Earth had just announced the missing Legionnaires were back. She hugs Mekt and runs back to the farm, hoping to get a message to Garth, but Mekt waits behind for a few moments - and in a stutter free-voice, says "So... you're back with us then, brother", and blasts the gravestone with his own powers before walking back...

A Change in Climate
Dayla Ranzz, mother to Spark and Live Wire, gets a visit from her twin sister, Lilya while trying to clear out her barn alone.
Notes
Errata
Main story
- In the flashback to the Outpost evacuation, Kinetix is shown in her pre-Anomaly costume.
- The tombstone on the cover ("Garth Ranzz | A Twin Without Equal | Lost on a Solo Journey") doesn't match the design (no statue of Garth) or inscription on the interior ("In Loving Memory | Garth Ranzz | Hero, Brother, Son")
- The Ranzz house doesn't match any previous depiction of it.
- Spark's mother, Dayla Ranzz (named for the first time in the backup story), is coloured with dark brown hair, unlike the red hair she was previously depicted as sharing with her children, while Kirth, their father (also named for the first time), is given a lighter shade of brown hair than previously.
Backup
- Despite the fact that Ayla met Mekt on the way home in the main story, she arrives home alone at the end of the backup.

LEGION WORLDS #2
Written by Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning; art by Enrique Breccia; cover by John Cassaday.
The universe-spanning mini-series continues. Ayla Ranzz, the former Legionnaire known as Spark, returns to her home world Winath. Because the planet is populated by twins, Ayla's "solo" status -- ever since her twin brother became one of the Legion Lost -- makes her something of an outcast. Even worse, Winath's crops are being destroyed by freak electrical storms and twisters, and the person responsible for the damage may tie in with the return of another one of Ayla's family members. Plus, eight pages of backup material.
48 pages, $3.95, arrives in stores on May 16 [2001].
