This story's plot involves Pete Ross' knowledge of Superboy's secret identity. Superboy eventually learns of it and attempts to remove that knowledge, but Mon-El stops him, going so far as to make Superboy himself forget that Pete Ross knows that he is Clark Kent.
A thought ballon reveals that Mon-El felt that he had no choice, because at some point Pete will save Superboy's life, but only because he knows his secret identity.
