Know nothing about this, but noticing Mgrabois' v2-->v1 change, if the series that Craigopher had listed as v2 is actually v1, IS there a v2? (Similarly, Gopher, what do/did you have down as v1?) - Reboot (SoM) talk page 01:47, 27 September 2006 (PDT)
- Secret Origins v1 #1 was published in 1961. There was only one issue of 80 pages, so it wasn't really a series. In 1998, DC released a replica edition of the same magazine. Overstreet lists another issue with it, but that had Even More Secret Origins on the cover and was really #8 of the Eighty Page Giant series.
- Secret Origins v2 #1 was published in 1973, and there were a total of seven issues in the series, of which the issue we're discussing is #6 published in 1974. This series used the same logo as the issue in 1961, but since it started with a new #1, you need the v2 to distinguish between them.
- Secret Origins v3 #1 was published in 1986. It was followed by another 49 issues through 1990. This series also had a few Annuals and a Special. It used a different logo than the other two series.
- Given the various details involved, the version numbers can be debated. However, since there are three different #1's, to me it seems that my original numbering is correct. I really don't care what we call it, as its the only issue #6 that has anything to do with the Legion. There are Legion stories in the v3 series, but none of them are #6. --Gopher 05:15, 27 September 2006 (PDT)

Indicia of v1
Saw a water-damaged copy of this on sale for 20p when I dropped into the comic shop while Xmas shopping the other day. As the bottom front isn't affected, I belatedly picked it up to try and settle this.
The indicia reads, and I quote:
© Superman, Inc., 1961
If need be, I can scan this.
I'd go with the cover "DC presents Secret Origins". - Reboot (SoM) talk page 07:07, 26 December 2006 (PST)
- The 1961 #1 wont be in the Wiki, since it has no Legion content (that I am aware of, you would now be a better judge of that than me), so basically it just means switching what we currently call v2/v3 to v1/v2. This agrees with a couple of sources and disagrees with a couple of others, so there's going to be confusion whichever path we choose. I'll take care of re-naming them within the LPH (probably tomorrow). --Gopher 07:47, 26 December 2006 (PST)
- Well, turns out I was right after all but for the wrong reason, from your perspective, when I renamed this. I would still have called the 1961 issue "volume 1" (or "1st series") as Overstreet and the GCD [1] do. So are you renaming the 1973 series as v1 and the 1986 series as v2? -- Omnicom 23:36, 27 December 2006 (PST)
