Biography
Little is known of Grev before he was picked as Talok VIII's replacement Shadow Champion when Umbra was believed dead and there was no-one closely related enough to her to wield the Shadowforce naturally.
Instead, he was selected, and a suit manufactured to amplify his latent ability. Following directives from a Talok VIII government which, together with its' populace, had become increasingly insular following a series of disasters to hit the United Planets, he then covered the entire planet in Shadow and began to force offworlders off the planet.
Then he died. The suit malfunctioned, placing too great a strain on him, and killed him. However, the Shadow kept going, following his last thoughts and continuing to drive offworlders away - along with the depowered Umbra, her powers drained by the events on Talok VIII, when she finally returned. Confronting Grev, the Shadow leeched back to her, and she discovered Grev's death before casting the Shadow from the planet.
Powers and abilities
Amplified by his suit, he could manipulate the Shadowforce to a massive extent, covering a planet in Shadow while creating many separate tangible creations, although the strain of doing so, combined with a suit which malfunctioned, would cause his death.
