It was just a matter of time before DC's successful hardback reprint series tackled the Legion's early material. Since this first installment of the Legion Archives was published, a dozen volumes have been released, making the Legion's the most prolific and arguably the most popular series in the DC Archives line. This comic-sized sampler reprints the first Legion tale along with two non-Legion stories.

Reprinted material

The following material is reprinted in this volume:

  • The JLA in "Doom of the Star Diamond" – Justice League of America #4
  • The Legion in "The Legion of the Super-Heroes" – Adventure Comics #247
  • Sgt. Rock in "The Rock of Easy Co.!" – Our Army At War #81

Errata

Although the cover to Adventure Comics #247 is printed within this issue, with the issue number clearly visible, this story is incorrectly stated as having been originally published in Adventure Comics #267. To further compound the error, the writer and artists from #267's story are credited as the creators of the story reprinted here.
