Legion Publication History/Series/Superman

During the Legion's early years, they sprang up sporadically across the entire Superman Family of titles that were edited by Mort Weisinger. While they eventually went on to have extended runs in Adventure Comics, Action Comics and Superboy v1, they also made a significant number of appearances in other titles within the magazine "family". Generally these were cameos or extremely subordinate to the star of the particular comic.

	Superman v1 #66 (published July 7, 1950; cover date September/October, 1950) "The Last Days of Superman" Plot unknown. Later rewritten to become "The Last Days of Superman!" in Superman v1 #156, October, 1962
	Superman v1 #80 (published November 5, 1952, cover date February 1953) "Superman's Big Brother!" Superman mistakes an amnesiac space traveler for his long-lost older brother. (Later rewritten to become "Superboy's Big Brother!" in Superboy v1 #89, June, 1961. 1st app. Halk Kar.)
	Superman #147 (published June 13, 1961, cover date August 1961) "The Legion of Super-Villains!" The Legion of Super-Villains recruits Lex Luthor in an attempt to humiliate the Legion by destroying Superman. 	Superman #149 (published September 14, 1961, cover date November 1961) "The Death of Superman!" Luthor pretends to reform before successfully killing Superman [Imaginary story/Elseworlds]. (Legion cameo at Superman's funeral)
	Superman Annual v1 #4 (published November 9, 1961, cover date 1962) "The Origins and Powers of the Legion of Super-Heroes!" (2-page profile of the Legion, 1st mention of many civilian identities, homeworlds and origins.)
	Superman #152 (published February 6, 1962, cover date April 1962) "The Robot Master!" Superman is plagued by robot versions of his closest friends. (App. Legion)
	Superman #155 (published June 21, 1962, cover date August 1962) "The Downfall of Superman!" Superman switches placed with a famous wrestler in an attempt to capture gangsters. (App. Cosmic Man & Lightning Man.)
	Superman #156 (published August 2, 1962, cover date October 1962) "The Last Days of Superman!" Superman succumbs to Virus X and enlists the aid of various heroes to help him perform charitable deeds before he dies. (App. Legion)
	Superman #157 (published September 20, 1962, cover date November 1962) "The Super-Revenge of the Phantom Zone Prisoner!" Plot unknown. (Cameo Mon-El) "Superman's Day of Doom!" Superman learns he will be saved by someone with the initials L.L. (Cameo Lightning Lad & Cosmic Boy)
