Black Dawn

Black Dawn was a series of incidents that took place in the summer of 2991 during great upheaval on Earth. The comic book never fully told the story of Black Dawn, but these events appear to be involved:

• Starfinger demands protection money from Earthgov.
• Sun Boy becomes acting leader.
• Earthgov declares a planetary emergency and suspends elections.
• Reflecto dies fighting the Molecule Master.
• Doctor Regulus tries to destroy the Earth's sun, perhaps at the behest of Starfinger. During the battle, Timber Wolf is exposed to radiation and is injured. When the Legion determines that the sun is cooling, Wildfire merges his energy with the sun, controlling the internal implosion and preventing its destruction. However, Wildfire is believed killed.
• In the wake of the disaster, Earthgov becomes more hostile to the team.
