After a camping trip causes Max Mercury to finally lose patience with being able to teach Impulse how to work in the real world, they return home. Later that night, Bart finds a masked figure speaking Interlac in their house, who pulls her mask off to reveal that she is his mother.

Flashback scenes of Bart, Dominators, Tornado Twins in 30th Century. Thought balloon with XS. Interlac text used in a couple of panels.

Story takes place in 30th Century before the Legion was founded, but involves the Science Police, Earthgov, and R.J. Brande. Jenni Ognats appears as an infant. Bart mentions the Legion to Brande, who doesn't know what he's talking about.
