Mark Waid, Tom McCraw, Curt Swan, Jeff Moy and KC Carlson were guests on America Online's Legion of Super-Heroes chat on Tuesday, March 28, 1995. America Online hosts LSH Chat every Tuesday night at 6:00 p.m. EST in the DC Online Chat area. Previous guests have included Mark Waid, Tom Peyer, Tom McCraw, Jeff Moy and KC Carlson. DISCLAIMER - All of this is subject to change, misinterpretation, or reader error. Wagering on the material herein is foolhardy. Jeff Moy is currently working on the L* annual and L* #29. There are 3 pages remaining before he finishes the L* annual. Waid is currently about halfway through scripting the L* annual. Madame President's name is Ms. Chu. They're still discussing the first name. The creators didn't know if we would be seeing J'onn Jonzz in the 30th Century again. KC was begged to let Curt Swan do something for the Legion. KC did talk to John Byrne about a project. KC didn't know if Byrne would do a LSH thing, but Byrne did want to work with Swan. At this point, they're just talking--no plans. Waid would give up his remaining sleep to work with Swan. Curt is currently doing special pieces for friends. He'd like to do the Legion and urged us to let KC know. Curt was very professional and thanked us all for the well wishes, remarking that it was kind that we remembered his LSH work. Curt likes the new Superboy . . . but it's not HIS SUPERBOY. There are no plans to bring Timberwolf back yet. Mike Collins and Mark Farmer did interior art on L* # 25. Moy did the interior art for L* #26. Brainy and Andromeda's interest in each other will be explored soon. VR may be affecting Imra. Reep's father dies in L* #25. Brande vs. the United Planets over the Legion is coming soon. The plot with Mekt Ranzz is finished. It will see print shortly after the L* annual. Kenny Braverman won't be joining the Legion Reserve even if he doesn't tell anyone Superman's secret identity. They're discussing doing a Legion reader election. It may come next year. Reep is still learning Interlac. Although there are no plans to bring her back, KC and Mike Carlin were discussing Insect Queen recently. KC and Tom Peyer have discussed plans for bringing back Chuck Taine. Nothing is finalized yet. According to Mark Waid, Impulse is going to have his hands full with XS soon. The Impulse/XS connection will be explained in LSH annual. Lyle is "golden" as long as Peyer and Waid have their way. We'll be sorry we picked on Lyle when we find out all of his secrets. (EDITORIAL - If we need to know his secrets to like the character, they should be revealing them now.) Lyle did not make the ship invisible in LSH #68. Jan Arrah will appear in the books. Dev Em won't be showing up soon because he's too confusing. They're looking to bring back the "regulars" first. Glorith, Mordru & the Time Trapper are in editorial-imposed limbo due to overuse last year. They will reappear. KC thinks Glorith has more potential than has been used so far. The Lori/Glorith thing in Valor was KC's idea. Ayla is getting a secret admirer. It isn't Brin Londo or me. KC thinks that overexpanding the Legion by adding new titles right now would wreck it. They are trying to get some mini-series underway. The Superboy crossover starts in Superboy #17. LSH #74 will be the firs t Legion issue of the crossover. (EDITORAL - This doesn't work out numerically. Sboy #17 is on sale in two months, as opposed to six months for LSH #74. My best guess is we're going to start seeing hints in Sboy #17. It's only my guess.) Laurel's xenophobia may increase after LSH #70 when she's out of the transuit. Gim has learned to get over his fear of Durlans. DC editors are cryptic in these AOL chats because it's in the job description. KC said (joked?) that eventually this LSH will have more members than the last one. He was not concerned about 30th century tax laws. They haven't completely figured out Valor's definitive history yet. He'll be explained as to what of his old history still remains in the Superboy crossover. Tom Peyer has come up with an interesting use for the VR room, but the other creators weren't talking. One of the 3 members that will be asked to leave "should find the revolving door." Finally, in a discussion about the Dream Team of Legion creators, Mark threatened to write and all others were advised to get out of his way.
