SPECIAL THANKS - To Andrew Woodard, Edward Douglas, and John Heaton for providing chat logs for Tuesday, May 21, 1996, that I didn't use for a report. :^) ============================ Ron Boyd's upcoming Showcase story features a single character and is set in the 20th century. (ED - The character was previously announced as Ultra Boy.) Jeff reports that the reaction to M'Onel's costume has been "so- so." Jeff claims that even he is "so-so" on the new look. Jeff originally proposed a uniform that reflected the wanderer aspect more, but KC wanted something that looked skin tight. Tom claims not to have a favorite color, but likes them all. Jeff enjoyed drawing Apparition and Andromeda while they were around. He observes that Spark is his pet Legionnaire. He may adopt Triad as his pet Legionnaire for the period while Spark isn't in the book. Tom promises that Triad will always have something to do because she's one of his favorite Legionnaires. Jeff believes that Triad is a fun character. She's lots of fun, so she gets lots of space. Tom observes that keeping track of Triad's colors gets confusing sometimes, then he has to pray that the separators get her right. The Triad switch in the Dr. Gym'll scene in L* #38 was a separator error. Tom usually doesn't have a problem determining how to color Triad's bodies because Jeff does a great job with mannerisms. Tom observed that Kent Shakespeare is a touchy character to use again. He would need plastic surgery before he could appear again. When asked about plans for Kono, Tom initially asked what they would need her for then recanted and noted that she could replace Apparition. Tenzil Kem might eat olive loaf. Tom promises that Tenzil and Chuck Taine are always around. Chuck appears in LSH #82. Tom thinks that Invisible Kid and Element Lad haven't received much focus lately. Jeff had pictures to use as references when illustrating fans into L* #38. Tom speculated that burritos might be causing Ultra Boy's recent bouts with heartburn. Jeff jokes that he gave Jancel a bandanna for something different and because all of his faces were looking the same. Tom indicates that Andromeda is still around,"probably building shrines to Saint Valor." Jeff tells us that we can keep hoping for Princess Projectra. Tom notes that Element Lad and Shvaughn are basically just meeting each other right now. Tom is not opposed to a May/December match between the two. Jeff promises the Legion traditions of leader elections and member tryouts soon. Tom doesn't think Shadow Lass could control the darkness in Saturn Girl's mind because it's a mental darkness. We'll see more of Mysa in a couple of months. Jeff needed to refer to the "Who's Who in the Legion" series to provide reference for upcoming scenes with R.J. Brande and Winema Wazzo in L* #41. Tom indicates that there may be plans for Saturn Queen, but he doesn't think she will be Jancel Ardeen. Tom thinks Jancel will show up again soon. Invisible Kid will have further refinements of his powers in L* #42. After the 20th century split, the 30th century team will have a try-out issue and will also have a focus on Kinetix. The Kinetix story won't be a spotlight. The next spotlight will be on Shrinking Violet. Jeff answered "yes" to whether there were plans to reintroduce Princess Projectra, Ferro, or Timber Wolf. Jeff claims whichever character will show up within a half year.
