Synopsis contains content from the Legion Help File. Used with permission.

The Legion gets another shot at the dangerous Tangleweb, as Cosmic Boy splits up the team despite objections from those left behind - but things quickly go wrong, as Tangleweb finds them first. Meanwhile, back on Earth, Triad is viciously attacked by a gang of White Triangle racists.

Insect Fear

Synopsis

Tangleweb attacks a spaceship, encasing the crew in sticky cocoons and telling them that their brains are what he's after. On Earth, in Legion Headquarters, the Legionnaires prepare to hunt down Tangleweb and capture him once and for all, but, when Cosmic Boy tries to assemble a team to do so, those not included in the mission take their exclusion as personal insults. Leviathan then tells the newer Legionnaires about the Legion's first encounter with Tangleweb, and Triad, who is particularly upset by her exclusion, storms out of the room. She then splits into three, each of them disagreeing over the matter, and her "purple" self walks out of the building, with the "neutral" self following her to talk to her.

As the team that had been selected for the mission prepares to take off, Cosmic Boy discovers that Invisible Kid, who thought the team would need him, was stowing away and throws him off the ship. Later, the Legionnaires encounter the ship that had most recently been attacked by Tangleweb and retrieves a tracking device which the United Planets had had installed in all U. P. ships after the Legion's first encounter with Tangleweb. On Earth, Invisible Kid borrows a stealthy, fast ship and takes off after the Legion. In space, the Legion follows the trail of Tangleweb's ship. Suddenly, Tangleweb turns around and attacks them. The Legion tries to capture him, but he captures Cosmic Boy and Spark and takes them with him when the Legion drives him off. Leviathan takes over the leadership of the mission and has Andromeda push the Legion's ship at super-speed so it can catch Tangleweb's ship. After a while, they land on a planet, which they soon discover is inhabited by many beings of Tangleweb's race.

On Earth, Triad's "neutral" body decides to return to Legion headquarters and apologize for her outburst. Before she can do so, she is attacked by the White Triangle thugs who she and the other female Legionnaires had met at a dance club previously - and a while later, her battered and bruised body is discovered, with an anti-alien note next to it and a painted white triangle on it, by a passer-by.
