There are several series in the overall LPH that take place in the 20th century:

  • L.E.G.I.O.N. - 99.9% of events take place in 1990's. Phase & Durlan are from the 30th century and timelines directly interact with 30th century events, but the 20th century stories are really independent of the main Legion chronology. Includes established Legion planets and species, as well as Shadow Lass's and Brainiac 5's ancestors.
  • Karate Kid series - 99.9% of events take place in 1970's. Karate Kid timeline directly interacts with 30th century events, but entire series is really independent of the main Legion Chronology, including villians and supporting characters that never interact with the Legion. Legion time bubble and a few Legionnaires make an appearance, Karate Kid oftne thinks of Jeckie.
  • Amethyst mini-series - All events take place in the 1980's. Detailed origin story for Mordru throughout the four issues but no direct connection to main Legion chronology. Postscript to story adds detail to White Witch's history.
  • Cosmic Boy mini-series - All events take place in the 1980's. Cosmic Boy and Night Girl timelines directly interact with 30th century events, but 20th century stories are really independent of the main Legion chronology.
  • Invasion mini-series - All events take place in 1980's. Heavy involvement of Legion related story elements such as Daxam and the Dominators. Events of storyline preceed and directly influence characters in L.E.G.I.O.N.

In general, all of the series I have mentioned have heavy ties with some aspect of the Legion, but like L.E.G.I.O.N., its awkward to place them side-by-side with regular Legion issues in a timeline. The Wanderers, although it takes place in the 30th century, and even has an issue in which some Legionnaires partake in events, has little to do with the main Legion chronology. Of all of them, the Cosmic Boy series has the best fit, because story events have a acknowledged beginning and end in within LSH v3 (placing it in the main LPH pages "feels" correct to me). However, the Phase and Durlan connections are also specifically referenced in LSH v4. I would prefer that we list the series above (minus Cosmic Boy) on a Related Series page. I can live with them on the main pages, but it seems weird to break out L.E.G.I.O.N. and not these others. --Gopher 06:11, 26 September 2006 (PDT)

My thoughts... In my world, I'd only keep track of those issues which features a character or a concept that is directly related to the Legion. Thus, the L.E.G.I.O.N. issues would theoretically only include the ones with the Durlan that became Brande, with Phase, with the Emerald Eye, etc. Karate Kid and Cosmic Boy both feature full-fledged Legionnaires. Inferno is a spinoff. Amethyst features the origin of a Legion villain, and while we're on him I'd include the JSA issues with him in it as well. Invasion would be on my list here due to the story of the reintroduction of Lar Gand. But really, the L.E.G.I.O.N. book was conceived almost as a companion book for the Legion, a 20th century version. I'd keep them all in the publication history - why not, it's only some extra electrons.
Someday I'd also like to see not only the individual chronological histories by character, but the whole Legion mythos from the dawn of time to the end of time from the perspective of a DCU observer. Of course, you'd need several of them, for the various reboot histories. -- Omnicom 15:48, 26 September 2006 (PDT)
