Star Boy, Dreamer and XS have become trapped in the midst of a massive Robotican assault on Xanthu. Fighting alongside the remaining Xanthian army, Khunds, Insect Queen and Atmos, they struggle to defray the assault which has killed most of Xanthu's population.
In the end, only a few million make it off-planet, while Star Boy and XS are forced to remain behind as part of the rearguard, much to Dreamer's distress, and are last seen alone, surrounded by thousands of Robotican drones...

Dreamer reflects on the Khund training which means that she now has far better control of her precognition at the cost of never sleeping, on her visions which hadn't been wrong in months, on the part she'd played as a result in keeping even a few Xanthians alive... and on a few of the visions themselves, including one of Shikari, one of Element Lad as the Progenitor, and one of Star Boy's grave...
