Tarnium

Tarnium - a pink, slightly fluorescent metal - was the primary fuel for Stargates.

It does not occur naturally, and could only be created by those with transmutation powers, such as the Trommites, who had been instructed in how to create it.

It was named for Element Lad's father Tarn Arrah, who created it on a regular basis for R.J. Brande, until his death in the White Triangle's destruction of Trom. This left Element Lad as the only known means of creating the important substance until his disappearance in the Rift, by which time the Stargate network had been shut down due to the Blight's tampering.

It should not be confused with Tromium.
