========================

Legionnaires Chat begins on Thursday, January 25, 1996, at 10:00 p.m. EST in
the DC Online Chat area of America Online. (I will be doing chat reports
for both sessions.)

Peyer promises that R.E.B.E.L.S. '96 #17 (final issue) includes two tidbits
that Legion fans will want to know. One of the tidbits concerns Phase.
Peyer promises that nobody is safe, not even Stealth. McCraw complained
that Peyer wouldn't even tell him about the R.E.B.E.L.S. wrap-up. Peyer
doesn't have any plans for the R.E.B.E.L.S. characters after the series ends.

Peyer indicates there is the possibility of a mini series featuring a solo
Legionnaire. He'd like to do a "Secret Origins" LSH mini.

Peyer's last name rhymes with "dire".

There's very little chance of the Legion books going bi-weekly with the
current market in the state that it's in.

Peyer enjoyed working on X-Nation 2099, but the third issue will be his
final issue. he doesn't know how long the X-Nation series will continue.

Jeff designed XS' look.

McCraw believes that the Legion would make a great animated series.

Jeff is finished with the art for the upcoming T-Shirt, but couldn't say
which Legionnaires were on the shirt. He predicts that we'll be seeing a
solicitation soon.

McCraw promised to get over there not being a Triad card in the current set
if Jeff would tell him that Triad is on the T-Shirt.

Jeff and McCraw weren't sure about the proposed LSH poster.

It's not clear when the LKOWians will be appearing in the titles.

McCraw indicates that the Superboy crossovers probably won't be an annual
event. He would like to see Supergirl appear in the title next. Peyer
would like the Superboy/LSH crossover to be an annual event, but every two
years is more likely.

McCraw doesn't think the Legionnaires would go to the Nine Planets Ice Cream
Shop as long as they have Tenzil in the cafeteria.

McCraw believes that something should be done about other Substitute
Legionnaires before Double Header is brought back.

Jeff is currently working on L* #38 from a plot.

No new Legion romances are on the horizon.

McCraw reports that KC just winces and says "try again" when Mantis Morlo
and the Chemoids are suggested.

There are no plans to use Amethyst or Kono.

Universo is a maybe.

McCraw thinks the new lettercol designs look great.

Upon suggestion that Jeff draw Leviathan as standing taller than other
Legionnaires in casual scenes, Jeff humorously offered that as an excuse for
inconsistencies in his drawings.

McCraw pointed out that Jan Arrah was not a Legionnaire and that President
Chu had Cosmic Boy remove him from the team. Tom wouldn't have any problem
with the age difference in a rebooted romance between Jan and Schvaughn
Erin, but wouldn't want to do another Profem story.

McCraw expressed doubts that Invisible Kid would ever tell his full story.
He observed that there was a lot to know.

Jeff says that it's merely coincidence that Kinetix doesn't appear on the
print that he intends to hand out at the summer conventions.

Peyer wouldn't rule anyone--including Captain Tro Yesq--out as the secret
admirer.

Jeff offered "we'll see" to a request for Live Wire to return to the Legion.

McCraw suggests that the Empress and Gates are just mutual friends.

Peyer offers that Empress is a killer who uses a false pose of political
involvement to disguise her pathology. He speculates that if the Empress
gets the Emerald Eye, she'll leave it on the steps so that people will trip.

Peyer points out that we don't know yet whether there will be two Emerald Eyes.

McCraw promises that we'll get more than enough of Kinetix soon. We will be
seeing her during the Fatal Five story.

When a fan asked why Andromeda and Valor weren't helping fight the Sun
Eater, McCraw responded that Andromeda is in prison and Valor is doing his
own thing. He further observed that Daxamites are selfish.

After LSH #80, the creators are going to do a series of shorter storylines,
including several one issue stories. The stories will still include lots of
troubles, but the tone of the stories won't be so depressing. There's no
word yet on what the next major storyline will be.

Jeff wouldn't say whether Spark would die fighting the Sun Eater.

McCraw promised that we'd learn more about the Sun Eater threat next month.
When the appearance in the 20th century was questioned, McCraw pointed out
that history is confused in the 30th century. He added that it's hard to
tell if history will make the Sun Eater a true event or not.

L* #38 is the Saturn Girl spotlight, and it will have a Saturn Girl cover by
Jeff Moy. Imra looks good on the cover, but she may not be feeling good.
The cover has Imra and a bunch of past Imra images on it (from earlier
Legionnaires). McCraw indicates that it's a good spotlight, and we get to
see her family--including Imra's siblings. It's written similar to the
Triad spotlight. He believes that all Saturn Girl fans will be happy with
the spotlight, and was surprised to learn how much of a blank slate Imra was
before the reboot. Neither Nara Minsork nor Saturn Queen will appear in the
story.

McCraw indicates that there wouldn't be any new members before the end of
1996, and feels that more time should be spent on the group that already
exists. On further questioning, however, he declined comment on whether
members would be joining after LSH #78. Peyer contradicted and said that
there will be a new member in the 1996 annual, but McCraw countered that the
annual didn't count. Peyer wouldn't reveal the annual theme.
