The Exaggerated Death of Ultra Boy

Synopsis

Ultra Boy floats through space, unconscious, as the Legionnaires hold a funeral for him and unveil a statue in his likeness. Suddenly, he is brought aboard a ship. On Earth, after the funeral, Phantom Girl cries over her loss, and Saturn Girl helps console her by unleashing all her happy memories of the two of them together. Ultra Boy is rudely awakened by pirates, who attack him when he defends his own honor and are defeated by him. Soon, the ship's captain, Captain Frake, walks in and instantly forgives him for fighting with the crew and requests that he join her for her meals.

Meanwhile, on Earth, the Legion receives an alarm from deep space.

In Captain Frake's quarters, Captain Frake questions Ultra Boy about his identity and history, but he finds himself not remembering either. She tests his powers, and tells him about a raid they have planned for that evening, something he acts uncertain about. She then kisses him to convince him to go along with her.

The Legionnaires, in response to the alarm, see the pirates attacking a ship and fire on the pirate ship. Captain Frake sends Ultra Boy to take care of the Legion ship while the others complete their looting. Ultra Boy boards the Legion ship and finds it strangely familiar, and Saturn Girl recognizes his mind. Phantom Girl tries to attack Ultra Boy, but he knocks her out. He finds himself unable to deliver another blow, though. He returns to the pirate ship feeling ill at ease, and Saturn Girl wonders whether or not she really detected Ultra Boy alive.
