  • Reason:
• Lost Leadership: Unofficially in March the 10th, 2991 during the Five Year Gap between Legion of Super-Heroes v3 #63, and v4 #1, , about four months before the Black Dawn crisis. Officially due to the disbanding of the Legion in July the 6h, 2992.
  • Reason: Decision to resign from the Legion and return to Orando, in part because of the bleak perspectives on Earth.

Timber Wolf

• Became Leader : Legion of Super-Heroes v3 #60, May 1989 (elected as deputy); unoficially became acting leader during the Five Year Gap, specifically in March the 10th 2991.
  • Reason: The resignation of Sensor Girl.
• Lost Leadership: At July the 5th, 2991, just prior the Black Dawn crisis. Officially due to the disbanding of the Legion in July the 6h, 2992.
  • Reason: Unspecified, but probably related to a general lack of purpose during the Dominator occupation of Earth.

Sun Boy

• Became Leader : In July the 5th, 2991, during the Five Year Gap, as revealed in Legion of Superheroes Vol. 4, issues #1-#28. His role was largely as a puppet of the Dominators and may never been quite official.
  • Reason: The resignation of Timber Wolf.
• Lost Leadership: Resigned in frustration in September the 14th, 2991, after the Black Dawn mission resulted in disaster. Details revealed in Legion of Super-Heroes v4 #28, April 1992. Unofficially appointed Polar Boy as his temporary successor.
  • Reason: A combination of general frustration and an untennable political situation.
