Tom McCraw (LSH/L* co-plotter/colorist), Tom Peyer (LSH co-
plotter/scripter), and Jeff Moy (L* penciller) were the guests on
America Online's Legionnaires Chat for Thursday, May 2, 1996.
Legion of Super-Heroes Chat is held every Tuesday in the DC

==========================

Jeff had found a copy of That Damned Tabloid (All New Collectors'
Edition C-55) at a toy show recently, and referred to the 70's
costumes as "wacky".

Peyer has been tapped as an "Up and Coming" creator in WIZARD.

The postboot Legion hasn't been influenced by L.E.G.I.O.N. yet.

Peyer indicated that there will be more non-humanoid
Legionnaires. It's still being worked out whether the non-
humanoid characters will be new characters or revamped characters
from the preboot.

McCraw states that they're trying to work more ethnic characters
into the books.

The postboot Quantum Queen has not been introduced yet. McCraw
hopes that the Wanderers will remain lost until they can be done
the right way. Their series gave him a bad vibe.

According to Peyer, Chuck will go to the robo-gladiator match
when he can be trusted to deliver experimental chemicals.

Pinky and the Brain will have taken over the world many times
over by the 30th century. Peyer reveals that R.J. Brande is the
Brain, and Marla is Pinky.

Peyer indicates that there are plans for Ferro Lad.

In the final issue of R.E.B.E.L.S., it was revealed that Phase
wasn't really Enya Wazzo.

McCraw points out that the Emerald Eye has already been shown in
Scavenger's lair. Fan speculation didn't really affect the Eye
storyline much, it was planned far in advance. However, fan
speculation did play a part in the storyline.

Only Roger Stern knows who the shadowy figure in L* #35 is. Jeff
said that the plot just called for a shadowy figure.

Look for a brief Legion appearance in KINGDOM COME.

SPOILERS!

Part of the Legion of Super-Heroes will be trapped in the 20th
century starting with LSH #85.

The time-lost team will return to the 30th century eventually.

The story is open-ended for a reason. The creators want to keep
the fans on their toes until they're done with the story.

Gates is one of the Legionnaires trapped in the 20th century.
The creative team is authorized to release one character per
chat. Peyer believes that the 20th century will make the 30th
century seem like the socialist paradise that Gates craves.

Peyer observes that after some initial hysterics, most fans are
being pretty cool about the 20th century storyline.

There will still be some continuity between the Legion titles
during the 20th century storyline, but not much. The books will
be mostly independent of each other. Peyer indicated that there
will be times when the two titles intertwine, or at least
dovetail.

LEGION OF SUPER-HEROES will host the 20th century stories because
Peyer and Lee Moder wanted to do them.

Triad will only be in one of the Legion titles. McCraw wasn't
certain if she can split for extended periods.

Jeff indicates that the creators agreed on which book would
remain set in the 30th century.

Peyer hinted that the team might meet Superman. McCraw wondered
if Supes would still know the team. Peyer indicated that
Superman's memory would be addressed in LSH #85.

McCraw indicated that there will be a good chance of Brainiac 5
meeting his great-grandfather, Vril Dox.

McCraw is in favor of the Marvel Family meeting the Legion. He
isn't sure if Live Wire or Spark can use their lightning to
change any of the Marvels.

McCraw points out that many Legion fans are anti-Kyle Rayner.

Peyer would like to see at least some mini-series set in the 20th
century.

When asked if loose ends about the Valor world-seeding would be
addressed during the storyline, McCraw quipped "What's the loose
end? He seeded the worlds and then left them."

When asked if there weren't already enough super-teams in the
20th century, McCraw promised that the Legion will be one of the
good ones.

All Legion appearances outside the Legion titles must be approved
by KC Carlson. McCraw adds hopefully that we'll like anything
that KC approves.

Omen and Prophet are not responsible for stranding the
Legionnaires in the 20th century.
