==============================
Tom is sworn to secrecy on the LSH Annual. The Annual will have the same
theme that all the annuals do this year. Roger has a few ideas for the
Legionnaires annual.
Roger led the attendees in a rousing chorus of "Marvel Fears the Legion!"
The consensus seems to be that Tom resembles Rokk Krinn.
Legionniares takes up most of Jeff's time. He would like to do some stuff
on the side.
Both Tom and Jeff are planning on attending the Chicago Con this year.
Roger indicates that Tom Peyer has some plans to pick up some of the loose
ends from the final issue of R.E.B.E.L.S.
Roger has written through L* #37, plotted L* #38, and more is on the way.
Tom had outlined L* #39 and was sending it on to Roger.
There's no third regular book planned, but some mini-series are possibilities.
Roger hopes that someday the Legion books will be on the newstand again.
Roger declined to pick a favorite issue that he's done to date, indicating
that it's too early to tell.
Roger would like to reintroduce another great old Legionnaire, the Yellow
Kid! He also suggested Soldier Boy, Cigarette Girl, Cheryl Lad, Tom Boy and
Weather Girl.
Tom thinks that an AIDS story would be tricky because of futuristic science
in the 30th century.
Roger thinks that enough Space Prison stories have been done for a while.
Roger pitched an idea for an LSH/MST3K crossover where the Legionnaires save
Mike and the 'bots from MITCHELL.
Tom doesn't think Chuck Taine is stupid in the reboot, and probably wouldn't
accidentally drink experimental serum.
Tom indicates that the cover of LSH #80 sort of spoils the issue.
Tom polled the attendees to find out which villains they were interested in
seeing reappear.
The Sun Eater hasn't appeared yet in the 20th century, but Roger warned to
keep watching the skies.
Roger can recall discussing Charma and Grimbor over dinner with Jim Shooter.
He participated in Holdur and Quicksand's creation. Holdur's original name
was ViceGrip, but the old DC chickened out.
Roger says that XS might possibly continue to play the sax, but that she'll
have to dig one up first. Tom notes that the sax seemed to be easier to
play than the Durlan instrument. Roger points out that both XS and
President Clinton play the sax and are Elvis fans. Tom hopes that the two
have nothing else in common.
Tom believes that Saturn Girl would make a great mini series, particularly
after her spotlight issue.
Tom threatens that he and Tom Peyer were joking about a return for Buck
Bond, so it might be possible. Roger chimed in that he liked Buck Bond.
Apparition will not be returning as Proty as Lightning Lad did. Tom sought
volunteers to hold lightning rods to sacrifice themselves for Tinya.
Kinetix does not appear in L* #35. We'll see more of Chuck in L* #35.
With respect to the T-Shirt that is appearing in the current Previews, Jeff
almost wanted to put a tongue on Ayla. Tom indicated that the characters
that appear on the shirt will not necessarily be Legionnaires but are merely
characters that have appeared in the books.
Jeff designed Live Wire's cyborg arm that appears on the T-Shirt. He used a
Six Million Dollar Man action figure as inspiration. (The big one with the
hole in the back of its head to simulate the Bionic Eye.)
Tom prefers the name "Element Lad" for Jan if Jan joins. The age difference
between Schvaughn and Jan wouldn't bother Tom if the two are linked up.
Tom promised that XS would eventually return to the Legion titles. Tom
pointed out that she was appearing in the next issue of Flash. Jeff didn't
know how Jenni got back to the 30th century. We will see XS' and Impulse's
parents.
Ultra Boy will be around whether he joins the team or not. Ultra Boy and
Live Wire have been "around".
Tom indicates that there will be a lot of travelling done in the next few
issues after LSH #80. He states that Moy has drawn a lot of culture into
the Legionnaires issue.
Dirk Morgna appears in LSH #81.
A villain returns in L* #39. Work Force will be appearing in L* #39, and
Tom points out that McCauley needs to hire some more people.
